Mr. Harris listens to his clients to understand their needs and help them achieve their goals.  He practices before all state and federal courts in Hawaii and represents clients in trials, administrative agency hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and alternative dispute resolution.  Mr. Harris’ civil litigation practice includes representing clients in matters involving:

  • Commercial and Business Disputes:   Representing businesses and individuals in large and small commercial matters involving breach of contract claims, tortious interference claims, unfair and deceptive trade practice claims, unfair competition claims, and claims for injunctive and declaratory relief.  Assisting clients in pre-judgment and post-judgment collection matters.

  • Real Estate Litigation: Representing property owners, ground lessors, lessees, and tenants in a variety of real estate litigation matters including commercial and residential landlord-tenant (summary possession) actions, condominium disputes between owners and Homeowners' Associations (HOAs) and Associations of Apartment Owners (AOAOs), partition actions, quiet title actions, and other tort and breach of contract claims related to real estate transactions.

  • Employment Liability: Advising and representing corporations and small businesses in the defense of federal and state employment discrimination claims involving race, national origin, ancestry, gender, pregnancy, age, sexual harassment, and allegations of whistleblower status and/or retaliation.

  • Insurance Defense and Personal Injury:  Representing clients in a wide spectrum of insurance defense and personal injury claims that include wrongful death claims, premises liability claims, product liability claims, employment practice liability claims, and professional malpractice (errors and omissions) claims.

Before joining Rush Moore LLP, Mr. Harris was a judge advocate in the Air Force where he prosecuted criminal trials of military members by courts-martial and prosecuted cases in federal court as a Special Assistant United States Attorney.  He also advised military commanders on a diverse range of legal issues, including labor and employment law, government contracting, and tort claims against the U.S. government.
