Mr. Street has also been very involved in community service
activities for many years. He has served on the international Board
of Directors for Special Olympics, Inc. where he chaired
the International Advisory Committee. He also served on
the North American Leadership Council and the United States
Leadership Council for Special Olympics. He currently serves
on the Board of Special Olympics Hawai`i as past chair
and coaches Special Olympics swimming and soccer teams.
He currently serves also as a Board Member of the Hawai`i
Disabilities Rights Center.
Mr. Street has more than 30 years of litigation experience in a broad
variety of matters including complex business litigation, copyright
and trademark infringement, intellectual property and trade secret
litigation and cases involving officers' and directors' liability,
professional malpractice, contracts, real property, trade regulation
and franchisor/franchisee litigation, wrongful termination actions
and other employment claims and lender liability claims. He has been
retained as insurance counsel in actions involving a variety of tort
claims including premises liability, products liability, toxic torts,
construction cases, and professional malpractice cases. His
experience includes jury trials, bench trials, appeals private
arbitrations, mediations and administrative hearings. Mr. Street has
argued before the Ninth Circuit and District of Columbia Circuit
Courts of Appeal and before the Hawai'i Supreme Court..
Mr.
Street graduated with Honors and Departmental Distinction in Economics
and Phi Beta Kappa from Southern Methodist University in 1970.
He earned his Juris Doctor and his Masters Degree in Economics
from the University of Virginia in 1973. He served as a Judge
Advocate in the U. S. Air Force in Hawai`i from 1974 through 1976
and then practiced law in Washington, D.C. for four years before
returning to Hawai`i in 1981 to join Rush Moore LLP A
Limited Liability Law Partnership. He became
a partner with the firm in 1983.
