& NOTES
Kelly
Henshaw, Hal Conroy, and Don Hamilton were the founders of what
is today Rush Moore LLP A
Limited Liability Law Partnership. When Harold W. Conroy and Don
C. Hamilton joined M.B. "Kelly" Henshaw in his private
practice, they became the firm's first associates, marking the
beginning of the present firm. The firm practiced under the
name of Law Offices of M. B. Henshaw at the old Hawaiian Trust
Company Building on King Street.
When
Hal Conroy and Don Hamilton became partners in 1953, the firm
name became Henshaw, Conroy & Hamilton. The year 1970 marked
the end of the firm's first era with the passing of Kelly Henshaw.
In
1971, the firm became one of the original
tenants of the Amfac Center, and the following year, the firm
name became Conroy, Hamilton, Gibson, Nickelsen & Rush.
In 1977, Hal Conroy retired and "Conroy Hamilton"
became "Hamilton Gibson", short for Hamilton, Gibson,
Nickelsen, Rush & Moore.
In
1985, the "Rush Moore" name 1st appeared. The firm
added a Kona office in 1999. In March 2002, Rush Moore moved
to its present offices in the Pacific Guardian Center. In
2005, the name of the firm was changed to the present Rush
Moore LLP A Limited Liability Law Partnership and the firm
celebrated its 60th birthday in March 15, 2006. The name
of the firm and its personnel have changed from time to time,
but some things have remained the same. The firm has always
had a diverse group of people with differing backgrounds
and viewpoints, as befits a business in Hawai'i, working
together to serve our clients and the community. The firm
has people who were born and raised in Hawai'i and those
who moved to Hawai'i from the mainland, and graduates of
the University of Hawai'i's William S. Richardson School
of Law and numerous other law schools.
