Ms. Nakoa has over eighteen (18) years experience in the areas of general and tort litigation, commercial litigation, plaintiff and defendant's personal injury, animal law and advising non-profit and charitable organizations. Her experience includes jury trials, bench trials, mandatory and binding arbitrations and mediations.

Ms. Nakoa was born in Honolulu and raised on Maui and Washington D.C. She received a Bachelor of Arts in political science degree from the University of Massachusetts at Boston in 1986, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Hawai`i in 1990. From 1998-2004, Ms. Nakoa was the managing partner at Strance & Nakoa, Attorneys at Law. Prior to that, she practiced at Goodsill Anderson Quinn. From 1999-2004, Ms. Nakoa served as a per diem judge in the District and Family Courts of the Third Circuit Court, State of Hawai`i before joining Rush Moore LLP A Limited Liability Law Partnership as a resident partner in 2005.
