Mr. Chinen has over 15 years of experience in defending tort litigation of all types, including automobile accidents, premises liability, products liability and construction defects, first and third party bad faith cases against insurance companies, and insurance coverage issues through declaratory relief actions. His experience includes jury trials, bench trials, court mandated arbitrations, uninsured and underinsured private arbitrations, and mediations. He has also argued before the Hawai`i Supreme Court. Mr. Chinen has also served as an arbitrator in the State of Hawai`i Court Annexed Arbitration Program.

Mr. Chinen graduated with distinction from the University of Hawai`i at Manoa in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 1987, he graduated from the University of Washington School of Law and immediately joined Rush Moore LLP A Limited Liability Law Partnership. He became a partner in 1994.
