Mr. Bento focuses his practice on public utilities and entities that work with utilities and utility regulation. His work is multi-disciplinary involving administrative law, advocacy, transactional, contractual and other skills. Mr. Bento's involvement in public utility matters began in 1991 as an attorney for the Public Utilities Commission of the State of Hawaii. In 1994, together with a partner, Mr. Bento embarked on a private law practice dedicated to the representation of Hawaii's telecommunications, electricity, water, wastewater, and transportation industries. Since 1994, he has continuously represented clients who need assistance to sustain and grow their utility and utility-related companies under Hawaii's complex public utility laws.
Mr. Bento graduated from Yale University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Russian and East European Studies. Following graduation, as a US Army officer, Mr. Bento worked for the U.S. Army Intelligence Center and School, Directorate of Training and Doctrine, Unit Training Division. In 1989, he graduated from the Cornell School of Law with a focus on International Legal Affairs. After gaining experience in private and public practice, in 1994, Mr. Bento was a founding partner of Hoshida & Bento, Attorneys at Law, a law practice dedicated to public utility law and representation. He joined Rush Moore LLP in 2005
